Plant App (Wety - Simple Plant Watering)

1. Overview

Plant App ("the App") is designed to respect your privacy. Plant-related content is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, securely synced via Apple iCloud.

The App does not offer user accounts, sign-in, or login functionality.

The App uses anonymous product analytics to understand feature usage and improve the user experience. We do not use analytics for advertising, behavioral profiling, or cross-app tracking.

2. Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog to collect anonymous analytics events. Events are sent to the configured PostHog host used by the App deployment.

Analytics is anonymous only. Because the App has no accounts or login, analytics events are not linked to account identity.

• Identifier used: a per-install UUID (distinct_id) stored locally in app storage (UserDefaults)
• The install identifier resets when the App is uninstalled and reinstalled

3. Analytics Data We Send

Analytics may include:

• Event name
• Event timestamp
• Anonymous distinct_id
• App version/build/bundle information
• Limited event properties needed for product analytics

Events are used for high-level product analytics (for example, screen views, interaction types such as taps/swipes, and successful data updates). We do not publish a full event-by-event catalog in this policy.

4. User-Provided Content

The App allows you to create and manage plant information, such as plant names, notes, and photos.

This data:

• Is stored only on your device
• Is optionally synced via Apple iCloud (CloudKit) if you purchase the "Unlimited Plants" in-app purchase
• Is not accessible to the developer or other users

5. iCloud & CloudKit

If you enable iCloud sync by purchasing the "Unlimited Plants" feature:

• Your data is stored and synced using Apple CloudKit
• Apple handles all iCloud data processing according to Apple's Privacy Policy
• The developer does not have access to your iCloud data

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase called "Unlimited Plants", which unlocks unlimited plant entries and enables iCloud sync.

All purchases are processed and managed entirely by Apple and are not linked to personal data accessible by the developer.

7. Notifications

The App uses local notifications to remind you when plants need watering.

• Notifications are scheduled entirely on your device
• No notification data is sent to any server

8. Feedback Form (Separate from Analytics)

If you choose to send feedback through the App:

• Only the message text you provide is sent
• No personal identifiers, device data, or metadata are included
• Feedback messages are sent via a secure connection to the developer's server and used solely for improving the App
• Feedback text is not sent to PostHog analytics

10. Data Sharing and Processors

We use PostHog as our analytics processor for anonymous event data.

• Processor: PostHog (privacy policy)
• Region/host used: EU PostHog host (eu.i.posthog.com)

Apple services (App Store, In-App Purchases, iCloud) are governed by Apple's own privacy policies.

11. User Controls

• No in-app analytics toggle is currently available
• Reinstalling the App creates a new anonymous install ID

12. Data Retention

• Plant data remains on your device and/or iCloud until you delete it
• Anonymous analytics data is retained by PostHog based on configured data retention settings
• Feedback messages are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to review, troubleshoot, and improve the App, and may be deleted periodically

13. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

14. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, you have rights regarding personal data. The App's analytics is designed to be anonymous. Data you create in the App remains under your control on your device and iCloud.
